The King proudly stands at 3.66 inches and its base is a robust 1.57 inches. This is a historic design featuring the one-piece knight with sophisticated eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth. Wider base and superb size proportioning from the king to the pawn exhibits true intricate craftsmanship in all the pieces. Dark chess pieces are exquisitely crafted in sheesham wood.

The opposing pieces are made of boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. Thick green felt which precisely envelops the base of each chessmen gives you the smooth movement and cushioned feel on the chess board. The knights are well-crafted and exhibit the sky-high level of knight carving skills that our Indian artisans have to offer.
Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.
About Chess Board:
This beautiful Board is made of Sheesham Wood on darker side and Box Wood on the lighter side. The underside of the board is felted with green velvet.
This sale is for the Chess Board alone and the Chess Set are NOT INCLUDED in the sale. The size of the board is 21" x 21" (53.3 cm x 53.3 cm) and the board is 20 mm thick. The Squares are 2.2" x 2.2" (55 mm x 55 mm).
