The asics gel resolution 9 are targeted for people who play primarily on the baseline and want lateral stability, after twisting my ankle multiple times on my nikes i decided to switch to gel resolution 9, and they are the best tennis shoes I have ever used. They are supremely comfortable and make you feel planted. Even though on the heavier side of the shoes the bounce while serving is amazing.
I play open stance for my topspin forehands and have a flat backhand with a conventional stance and they did not disappoint, the special spots for pivoting on the outsole allow me to change my direction at a moment’s notice and the grip I get is just perfect to allow me to slide for those shots in angles.
The green/grey color is much better in real life with the grey having a blue hue and the green being vibrant but not obnoxious like neon colors, they look and feel amazing.
If you are someone who plays for longer hours and need stability while playing these are the perfect shoes for you. They fit like a glove for people with conventional feet but you might feel a little tight if you have a thicker foot, nevertheless they are the best shoes for tennis I have ever used.
